Department OverviewThe Evidence and Devices Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide.
We are a thriving and growing company in search of a Software Engineer to join our evidence management team in Krakow, this is Hybrid role. This full-time position offers the opportunity to play a significant role in the development and growth of our software engineering projects. We are seeking a talented and proactive individual who can contribute to our team’s success and foster a spirit of collaboration within the company.
Job Description
We are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. Your job is to make sure our databases are stable, fast, and recoverable.The ideal candidate is someone who treats operations as a software engineering problem. You will act as a subject matter expert on database performance and liaise with our core software development teams to deliver advice on best practices and performance.
You will will work directly with our developers to catch bad queries or schema issues before they hit production.
Basic Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Engineering: Analyze database performance, troubleshoot high-latency queries, and assist development teams with schema design and query optimization.
Reliability & Availability: Maintain high availability and reliability of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) to meet defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Observability: Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding solutions (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog) to proactively identify issues before they impact users.
Disaster Recovery: Design and test backup strategies, failover mechanisms, migrations and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
Incident Response: Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents, followed by post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
