As a Vonage Database Engineer, you will be part of our platform engineering team, playing a major role in designing and architecting the database platform and will work in MongoDB Atlas and AWS cloud with different services like MongoDb, RDS Aurora, MSK, OpenSearch, DynamoDb, Elasticache, EC2, S3 and more.
You will be responsible for database tuning and query performance, architecture and implementation of high availability strategies, automation tooling for schema migrations and credential management, and monitoring.
We challenge our Database Engineers to get into the boots of a platform engineer and work with infrastructure as code and configuration as code, automating the creation of databases in the cloud.

Required:
- At least 05+ years production experience with MongoDB & Postgres (installation, upgrades, tuning , sharding and replication)
- Deep knowledge on query execution concepts
- Experience with cloud services
- 3+ years of experience in data related roles
Experience we consider a plus:
- AWS RDS Aurora, ELK, Redis, DynamoDB, other no-sql technologies, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Snowflake or other
- Data ETL, data warehousing, performance profiling and analysis
- Database operations (monitoring, data migrations, backup & recovery)
Qualities About You That Might Make Our Decision Easier:
- Passion for everything about data management
- Experience with pub/sub messaging technologies
- Experience with IaC/CaC such as terraform, chef, puppet, ansible or other
- Experience in Agile software development methodology
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or other
