Database Administrator

Location : Gurgaon (On-site)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and prevent recurring issues.

• Analyze and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings. Implement best practices to enhance system efficiency.

• Manage and optimize on-premise SQL Server environments (2019-2022) and Azure SQL Managed Instances, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.

• Administer, maintain, and monitor multiple database environments, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability.

• Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database provisioning, deployments, and monitoring. Implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes.

• Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

• Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development and infrastructure initiatives.

Your Profile

As a person you come across as team-player who is professional, analytical, solution-oriented, positive and energetic. Further we are looking for a candidate with the following professional competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• More than 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on troubleshooting and performance tuning.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings and services.

• Familiarity with basic DevOps practices and tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficiency in SQL query optimization and scripting.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.

• Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Microsoft Azure, database management) are a plus.
