Position Summary

As a Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced machine learning theory and hands-on expertise in Python and SQL to deliver impactful data-driven solutions. You will design, develop, and deploy deep learning models, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and business value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning and deep neural network models for a variety of business use cases.
  • Apply strong theoretical knowledge of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, and data science best practices to solve complex problems.
  • Write efficient, production-quality Python code for data processing, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
  • Design and execute complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis from large-scale databases.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate models into production systems.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in machine learning and deep learning.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Utilize GitHub workflows for version control, code review, CI/CD, and collaboration, ensuring best practices in code quality and project management.
Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
  • Strong theoretical foundation in machine learning, including supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and statistical inference.
  • Hands-on expertise in Python for data science and machine learning (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience building, training, and deploying deep neural networks (CNNs, RNNs, transformers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a focus on using GitHub workflows for version control, branching strategies, code review, and CI/CD automation.
  • Ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., GCP Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker).
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and monitoring.
  • Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$86,520.00 - $173,040.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
