SUMMARY: The Data Scientist II enhances their scope by managing more complex features and model evaluation. They extend their proficiency in data source identification and more advanced software development practices. Their understanding of the business domain allows them to better align their technical solutions with business needs, and they start contributing to MLOps tooling feedback.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build on the above skills, adding more expertise in business problem formulation and ensuring the championing of machine learning and AI use cases that fit business needs.
Enhance technical problem formulation capabilities, driving more complex and valuable business outcomes.
Incorporate more advanced data visualization techniques to communicate findings more effectively.
Master software development knowledge, including proficiency in relevant languages, development practices, and environment testing for machine learning pipelines.
Write and perform unit tests on features, models, and deployments while assisting with updates to MLOps tooling.
Perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
Preferred Certification(s): Any relevant IT Certification.
Experience: 1+ years of relevant or practical experience.
Special Skills:
Foundational skills in statistical analysis, machine learning, and software testing.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or other relevant programming languages for data science.
Soft Skills:
Self-motivation: Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects without constant supervision.
Organizational Skills: Capacity to manage multiple tasks, datasets, and project components efficiently.
Communication: Clearly articulating findings to team members and stakeholders.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies in the rapidly evolving field of data science.
Problem-solving: Basic skills in identifying issues and proposing data-driven solutions.
Time Management: Prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality.
