We are looking for a Data Science Manager GDI&A -EU Sales, CO2 & Sustainability to join us in our Budapest XIII. Váci Greens office.

The Data Science Manager GDI&A will lead a cross-functional Product Driven Organization (PDO) team in building advanced analytics and cloud-native data products in the EU Sales and CO2 Compliance domain. This role bridges the gap between complex statistical modeling, cloud architecture, and strategic senior executive decision-making. Operating as a critical partner in the European GDI&A team and to European business leads, you will drive the end-to-end vision, roadmap, and delivery of high-impact AI/ML solutions that protect Ford's European CO2 compliance and optimize vehicle margins. You will work directly with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, data engineers, and data scientists in and outside GDI&A to deliver scalable systems that power business operations in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

•  Lead, coach, and mentor a multi-disciplinary technical team of data scientists and data engineers, establishing a high-performance delivery culture aligned with GDI&A's objectives.
•  Define and communicate the long-term product vision, technical roadmaps, and strategic priorities for the EU CO2 and sustainability analytics portfolio.
•  Drive the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native (GCP) analytics products in compliance with enterprise data standards, quality controls, and security guidelines.
•  Provide senior technical guidance on statistical modeling, mathematical optimization, and machine learning pipeline integration to support regulatory compliance forecasting.
•  Partner with senior European business leaders and global technology groups to translate complex regulatory requirements and analytical outputs into actionable commercial insights.
•  Manage demand, team capacity, and product line resource allocation, resolving cross-functional dependencies and technical blockers.
•  Author and maintain high-level technical documentation, strategy papers, and governance guidelines to ensure long-term product integrity.

Qualifications

•  PhD or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a highly quantitative discipline.
•  5+ years of progressive experience in advanced analytics, data science, or data engineering, with hands-on exposure to cloud-native platforms (GCP preferred).
•  Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams, with a track record of translating complex mathematical concepts for non-technical senior executives.
•  Deep conceptual and practical understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning methodologies.
•  Strong leadership skills within a Product Driven Operating Model (Agile/PDO), with the ability to define strategic roadmaps and align cross-functional stakeholders.
•  Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
•  Highly comfortable working with fluid requirements and managing strategic ambiguity.

Preferred requirements:
•  3+ years of direct supervisory experience managing technical data science or engineering teams.
•  3+ years of experience delivering predictive analytics solutions in vehicle sales, regulatory compliance, CO2 fleet management, or environmental sustainability.
•  Experience integrating data products with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise-level database architectures.
•  Inquisitive, self-driven, and capable of driving organizational change in a global matrix setup.
