Role
To support Airwallex's continued global expansion and operational scalability, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Ops Associate to join our Data Operations team in Singapore.
In this role, you will take ownership of complex data pipelines, reporting systems, and automation initiatives that support key functions globally. You will play a key role in designing scalable, reliable, and automation-first data solutions, ensuring high data quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness in a fast-growing fintech environment.
Responsibilities

1. Partner closely with key domain and function teams globally to translate business and regulatory requirements to drive robust automated data solutions

1. Design and own end-to-end data operation solutions and scalable data pipelines to support various use cases in multiple output formats through approachable applications

1. Improve data quality, accuracy, and reliability through systematic validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data processes, enabling actionable insights for decision-making as well as proactive issue detection and remediation

1. Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and data-driven tools to monitor business operations performance, detect opportunities and drive automation initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency, and mitigate operational and reporting data risks

1. Act as data subject matter expert, contributing to best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the organization; identify and measure success of function efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends and results

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or above, with 4+ years of relevant experience in data operations, analytics, or data engineering-related roles

1. Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience building production-grade data pipelines and automation workflows

1. Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data validation, and monitoring best practices

1. Experience working with dashboards, reporting systems, and data delivery mechanisms for business and operational stakeholders

1. Prior experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial services, or regulated industries is highly preferred

1. Strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently on complex problems, and drive initiatives end-to-end

1. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

1. Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese Mandarin; able to adapt to a working in cross-cultural working environment
