About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced MTS-4 Software Engineer to join the Nielsen Fulfillment Center Team which is a part of the Data Platform BU. In this role, you will be the Architect and Lead Developer for the Fulfillment Center. Nielsen delivers Insights to its Customers through various delivery channels. These form over ten thousand Report types that are sent to our Customers. Each Report is assembled across 100s of Teams performing extensive and domain-intensive Data Engineering jobs. The Fulfillment Center provides distributed tracing across the steps for each Report and each of this Report being a complex dependency Graph in itself! You will be responsible for Leading a Team of other Full Stack as well as Data Engineers and will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to build and enhance our distributed tracing platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement highly performant experience for the Fulfillment Center, selecting the right stack for front end, backend as well as persistence
- Lead complex technical initiatives and architectural decisions
- Drive best practices in software development, testing, and deployment
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and influence product roadmap
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong and hands-on proficiency in React.js, Node.js, Redux and Typescript
- Significant experience with Unit Test and Performance Test frameworks for the Frontend stack
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience in Java and Python programming languages is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Track record of taking ownership of complex projects and delivering results
- Experience working in ambiguous environments and ability to drive clarity
