The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Architect to design, develop, and maintain our next-generation big data platform. You will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy and ensuring the scalability, performance, and reliability of our data infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases, as well as proficiency in Python or Scala.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and performant big data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, and other relevant technologies.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and ETL processes.
- Optimize database performance and ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and analysts to understand data requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve data infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain data security and governance policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Document database architecture and design decisions.
- Mentor junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 12+ years of total experience with 5+ years as a Data Architect.
- Strong understanding of database design principles and data modeling techniques.
- Extensive experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and related technologies (HDFS, Hive, HBase, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python or Scala.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with data governance and security best practices.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
