Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
The Senior Data Quality Consultant will work with minimal supervision, often without established procedures, and will be expected to turn
ambiguous data problems into practical, high-quality solutions.
This role partners and collaborates with stakeholders across teams including Data Governance, Data Assets, Operations, Data Services,
Data Strategy, Global Technology and Consumer. It requires deep technical expertise in SQL Server, strong knowledge of large-scale data
environments, and proven experience resolving complex issues involving search and match, merging, deduplication, splitting connected data, data quality monitoring, alerting and remediation. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as
well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
- As a Senior Data Quality Consultant, you will play a crucial role in shaping data quality standards and leading advanced
initiatives that align with strategic goals.

Act as a senior technical specialist within the Data Quality team, providing strong SQL Server and data quality expertise on
complex issues and initiatives.
•
Lead the design, development and implementation of data quality standards, monitoring processes, dashboards, alerting and
improvement programmes.
•
Conduct audits and assessments of data quality, producing actionable recommendations, implementation plans and evidencebased findings.
•
Partner with leadership and senior stakeholders to shape the direction of data quality projects and influence departmental
outcomes.
•
Solve highly complex data quality and integrity issues across very large databases, using advanced SQL Server coding, root
cause analysis and innovative thinking.
•
Lead investigations and remediation activity involving search and match, connected data, merging, deduplication and splitting
of linked records or entities.
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure data quality requirements, risks, controls and validation
expectations are understood and met.
•
• Design and deploy tools, procedures and reusable methodologies for data quality management, validation and reconciliation.
• Mentor and guide analysts and consultants, providing technical feedback and helping to raise capability across the team.
Prepare and maintain special internal and external reports, including complex analysis, management reporting and evidence to
support governance or regulatory expectations.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
•
• Bachelor's Degree required, or significant relevant commercial experience.
Very strong SQL Server coding experience, at developer level or close, with the ability to design, write, debug and optimise
complex SQL for very large databases.
•
A proven track record of solving very complex data problems involving large databases, complex SQL code, ambiguous
requirements and innovative, outside-the-box solution design.
•
Required experience in Search and Match, including analysis of match rules, match outcomes, false positives, false negatives
and related data quality impacts.
•
Required experience in merging, deduping and splitting connected data, including understanding the downstream risks and
controls needed when remediating linked records, entities or accounts.
•
Experience leading advanced data quality projects, developing technical strategies and supporting data governance or controlbased initiatives.
•
Strong understanding of data quality risks, validation methods, reconciliation techniques, root cause analysis and evidencebased decision making.
•
Superior communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly
and influence colleagues at multiple levels.
•
Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple complex priorities, mentor others and act with strict adherence to
confidentiality, GDPR and regulatory requirements.

• Desirable:
• Experience in PowerShell for automation, orchestration, data processing or operational tooling.
• Experience in VB6 or maintaining legacy data quality tools and processes.
• Experience designing or improving data quality dashboards, alerts, automated checks or operational monitoring processes.
• Experience working with large-scale data remediation, custom rematching, housekeeping or bulk data change activity.
