Job Summary

Reporting to Head, Data Analytics – Retail and Business Banking, the Data Analyst has the responsibility of providing daily accurate information on business direction through planning and driving MI processes interpretation of business performance data both financial and non-financial for Retail and Business Banking and continually reviews and analyze operational cost efficiencies. This requires the role holder to have regular contact with other bank team units as well. Also, the purpose of the role includes:
1) Develop and Monitor Data in Retail and Business Banking.
2) Collect and submit key KPI for Retail and Business Banking.
3) Coordinate communication cascades and escalate feedback to the Head, Data Analytics.
4) Innovate Data through usage of available tools
5) Prepare performance review packs and make presentations to relevant users of Data
6) Convene stakeholder meetings to ventilate emerging Data
7) Review, Refresh or Re-engineer Analytics outputs in a constantly changing Data environment and identify areas where improvements are needed
8) Develop and design performance dashboards and automate them for seamless reporting

Job Description

Data Development, Automation, Business Intelligence and Analytics                                                 

Outputs:

  • Development and Implementation of the Retail and Business Banking performance Management process, working with the Segment Heads to translate/relate business objectives into role specific performance plans for our people.

  • Ensure that data intelligence models and tolls are designed for monitoring and are applied as well as adopted.

  • Embed the importance of data Integrity, Quality and Governance.

  • Analyze data for Retail and Business Banking and Provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Identify and evaluate improvements in performance and present in a compelling and coherent manner.

  • Provide Business intelligence information and recommendation to Leadership.

  • Champion initiatives across Retail and Business Banking via relevant MI and data generation.

  • Planning, organising and controlling the data analytics reporting framework.

  • Develop self-serving dashboards.

  • Automate all manual spreadsheets and processes to improve internal customer experience and improving reporting TAT.

  • Develop new data solutions including data marts, MI and Analytical models.

  • Projects and Initiatives lead.

  • Work closely with the analytics team to deliver exceptional business performance through the provision of first-class insights and recommendations as well as business improvement initiatives.

Technical skills/competencies

  • Excellent programming and system modelling skills; data modelling, structured analysis, object-oriented analysis, programming tools: Visual Basic, web programming: HTML, XML, XSLT, PHP, AJAX, Python, R, etc

  • Excellent skills in data mining, relation database management systems and programming languages:

  • Ability to query databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Hadoop and PostgreSQL.

  • Ability to efficiently play and manoeuvre with large sums of data to accurately derive intended result

  • Database administration and development skills

  • Report Automation.

  • Good reporting and presentation skills using modern Data Analytics and AI tools like Power BI and many more like tool.

  • Excellent business analytical skills for performance measurement and reporting.

Knowledge and Expertise, Experience (relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Bank’s products, services and policies)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • University degree preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Physics, (Essential)

  • Data Engineering or Data Science related certifications [Essential].

  • Experience in programming and data mining (Essential)

  • Excellent understanding of Retail and Business Banking products & services

  • Highly accurate assessments to ensure effected business decisions are robust.

  • The role holder will be responsible for making presentations to RBB Leadership and Pan Bank stakeholders.

Education

Higher Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (Required)

Skills Required
