Job Description:
Manulife’s Digital Operations is seeking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our team to provide data-driven solutions and support Manulife/John Hancock business units. We are looking for the right individual who would be interested to propose and develop data solutions, has strong willingness to learn through team collaboration, desire to drive and execute on our data strategy, willing to help mature our agile practices, and is looking for an opportunity to embrace technical challenges and be part of a self-organizing team.
Key Responsibilities:

Understand the nuances of the data and its relationships to build desired results
-
Leverage the technology to build full-function, easy-to-use dashboards and solutions.
-
Collect, transform, and store data required for business intelligence and analytics (including internal and external data sources).

Working Knowledge of Service Now, CMDB (Configuration Management DB), and Lean IX.
-
Build, test, and maintain scripts created, if needed.
-
Streamline data collection methods to create automated and easy-to-use routines.
-
Perform cleansing, processing, and validating the data to be analyzed to ensure its quality.
-
Explore and visualize data using Python and Business intelligence tools such as Power BI, VB script, Grafana, etc.
-
Collaborate with Cross-functional teams to understand Business requirements and transform them into data-driven solutions.

Document all data pipelines and transformations created.
-
Follow standards for data analysis to promote maintainability and testability.

Recommend improvements to practices where appropriate.
Qualifications:
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science / IT or equivalent.
-
Experience: 3+ Years of Data Gathering, Analysis, and Presentation skills.
-
Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)

Shift Schedule: Ability to work on a night shift work schedule.
Minimum Skills to Hire:
-
Bachelor's degree in Data Science or equivalent.
-
3+ Years of Data Gathering, Analysis, and Presentation skills.
-
Knowledge in Azure, MS Excel, and MS SQL is an advantage.

Average proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, VB Script) is an advantage.

Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Grafana)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience with Agile delivery.

Demonstrates a commitment to delivering excellent service, balanced with appropriate risk management.

Monitor, validate, and drive continuous improvement to methods, and propose enhancements to data sources that improve usability and results
