JN Bank is strengthening its data and analytics capability to support more informed, timely and strategic decision-making across the organization. We are seeking a Data Analyst who can transform complex data into clear, meaningful insights that inform policy, product, risk and operational decisions. This role sits at the intersection of business understanding, analytical rigor and effective communication, working closely with business stakeholders, BI professionals and data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities across products, customers and operations.
  • Conduct exploratory, diagnostic and ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and management requests.
  • Develop analytical frameworks and methodologies to assess business performance, customer behavior and operational efficiency.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations.

Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business units to understand objectives, challenges and information needs.
  • Translate business questions into appropriate analytical approaches and clearly defined outputs.
  • Provide data-backed insights to support strategy, policy, pricing, risk and operational reviews.
  • Present findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Reporting & Analytical Outputs

  • Develop analytical reports, summaries and presentations that effectively communicate key insights.
  • Support the design of dashboards and reporting outputs in collaboration with BI Analysts.
  • Ensure analytical deliverables are accurate, consistent, clear and supported by a coherent narrative.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Identify data quality issues and collaborate with data owners and engineering teams to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Apply appropriate validation and sense-checking techniques to maintain analytical integrity.
  • Document assumptions, methodologies and limitations to support transparency and auditability.

Continuous Improvement & Data Literacy

  • Identify opportunities to improve analytical processes, methodologies and the use of data across the organization.
  • Contribute to analytical standards, templates and best practices.
  • Support data literacy initiatives by helping stakeholders better understand and interpret data.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a data analysis, analytics or business analysis role.
  • Strong experience working with large datasets and performing structured analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience using Python or similar analytical tools, including tools such as pandas and numpy.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms.
Technical Skills

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, Pivot Tables and data analysis.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Python or a similar analytical programming language.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git would be an asset.
