Description
The primary responsibility of the Data Analyst will be in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to drive informed decision making in conjunction with the project controls team in support of the OPG service lines and program management. This position requires understanding of project management fundamentals, ensuring data integrity, developing reporting tools and templates, and providing actionable insights to improve cost, schedule, and project performance outcomes on a project and program level.
Work Location and Travel
- Role will be in a hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required, Minimum 2 days per week in the Houston Office

Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting
- Collect, validate, and maintain program data from multiple sources and systems (cost, schedule, financial, and project performance metrics)
- Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting for cost and project metric performance
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Monitor data quality and implement controls to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Analyze historical data to identify patterns and support predictive trends for project metric outcomes
- Support initiatives to standardize and streamline data communications across multiple programs
Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain standardized dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel and PowerBI
- Recommend and implement improvement in standardization of metrics, data collection, and reporting
- Assist in developing KPIs and metrics for program performance tracking
- Investigate and support automation initiatives to streamline reporting and analytics
Stakeholder Support
- Collaborate with project management, project controls, and program management to understand and support data needs and deliver visualized reporting to drive actionable insights
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support service line management decisions
- Partner with Program Managers to collect, organize, and visualize program performance data for external presentation
- Participate in project or program reviews by providing accurate and timely data visualizations

REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, or related field Three (3) years of experience in data analysis or related field, preferably within project controls, project management, or program management or, any combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools (Microsoft Power Apps, PowerBI, Excel)
- Familiarity with project management and project controls principles
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
