Cybersecurity Quality Advisor
Role Definition:
Caterpillar's Cybersecurity Team is seeking a Cybersecurity Quality Advisor to join our Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). In this role, you will facilitate and coordinate strategic cybersecurity initiatives / projects that deliver process and solution improvements, strengthening Caterpillar's ability to protect resources from cybersecurity threats. You will be part of a dynamic team, working and interacting with other groups within Cybersecurity and across Caterpillar IT. This role requires strategic thinking, firsthand technical skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align technology solutions with regulatory requirements, cybersecurity assessment types, and best practice.
What You Will Do:
  • Collaborate, lead, and provide guidance to team members on varied Cybersecurity & IT processes and initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Provide program and project leadership for cybersecurity efforts and stakeholder updates. 'Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for cybersecurity implementations.
  • Facilitate and document requirements, develop project charters and scope documents, and communication plans.
  • Provide change management techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and business unit adoption.
  • Facilitate regular collaboration sessions, reporting, assist in identification and gathering of metrics, and support the updates of an 18-month roadmap for team products and services.
  • Ability to translate business goals into cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Experience aligning security initiatives with enterprise risk management.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Produce solution documentation, architectural diagrams, standards, and best practice guides.
  • Follows efficient and effective auditing and compliance reporting.
  • Provides feedback for improvement of procedures and policies.

What You Have:
  • Experience in Cybersecurity and IT teams.
  • Progressive Cybersecurity leadership experience.
  • Facilitation / Project management experience guiding cyber security projects in large enterprises.
  • Knowledge and experience using and maintaining commercially available endpoint and cloud-based cybersecurity products.
  • Knowledge and experience using cybersecurity solutions like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management).
  • ITIL knowledge, ServiceNow Experience.
  • Understanding of network security, cloud security, identity management, and incident response.
  • Familiarity with tools like SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence senior leadership.

Education / Experience:
  • bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity focused job roles.

Top Candidates will also have:
  • Professional information security certification(s) from an accredited institution (CISSP, CCSP, SANS GIAC, etc.)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Agile Experience.
  • Knowledge and experience understanding and managing compliance within IT control frameworks.
  • Demonstrated continued professional development.
  • Adaptability to work in a varied, fast-paced, ever changing global environment.
  • Able to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a regionally distributed team and across all levels of an organization.

Skills Descriptors:
  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, understandable language appropriate to the audience.
  • Cybersecurity Standards and Policies: Knowledge of developing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that guide interactions with customers.
  • Information Security Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools, and techniques of information security management.
  • Information Technology (IT) Security Policies: Knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.

Additional Info:
  • The primary locations for this position are: East Peoria, IL, Nashville TN, or Dallas, TX
  • 5 days onsite is MANDATORY.
  • Sponsorship is NOT available.
  • Relocation is available for qualified candidates.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
