Reports to: 
Solid-line: Arc'teryx Korea Business Leader 
Dotted-line: APAC Technology Leader (reporting to the Chief Technology Officer) 

Job Summary 
The Country Technology Leader for Korea is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing all technology operations within the Korean market. This position ensures robust IT technical support, strengthens information security (including cybersecurity and privacy), and manages third-party technology vendors to support Arc'teryx’s business objectives in Korea. The role requires close collaboration with the Korea Business Leader and alignment with the APAC Technology Leader to drive regional and global technology strategies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Technical Support  
  • Oversee the delivery of reliable, efficient, and scalable IT technical support services for Arc'teryx’s Korea operations, including retail stores, offices, and remote employees. 
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity. 
  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems, tailored to Korea’s operational needs. 

  • Information Security (Cybersecurity and Privacy)  
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect Arc'teryx’s data, systems, and customer information in Korea. 
  • Ensure compliance with local and international privacy regulations, including Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). 
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, implement security controls, and lead incident response efforts for any security breaches. 

  • Third-Party Technology Vendor Management  
  • Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors providing services and solutions for Korea’s operations. 
  • Negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) meet Arc'teryx’s quality and security standards. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or vendors to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. 

  • Strategic Alignment and Collaboration  
  • Partner with the Korea Business Leader to align technology initiatives with local business goals and growth strategies. 
  • Collaborate with the APAC Technology Leader to ensure consistency with regional and global technology standards, policies, and roadmaps. 
  • Provide regular updates on technology performance, risks, and opportunities to both solid-line and dotted-line reporting managers. 

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 

  • Experience:  
  • 8+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 3 years in a country or regional technology leadership position. 
  • Proven track record in managing IT technical support, cybersecurity, and vendor relationships in a high-growth, retail, or consumer-facing organization. 
  • Experience working in Korea or the APAC region, with knowledge of local regulations and business practices. 

  • Technical Skills:  
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, POS, CRM). 
  • Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and privacy regulations (e.g., PIPA, GDPR). 
  • Familiarity with retail technology solutions and e-commerce platforms. 

  • Soft Skills:  
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams. 
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and a focus on operational excellence. 
  • Fluency in Korean and English (written and spoken) is required; additional APAC language skills are a plus.
