What You’ll Do:   

Nexxen is looking for an experienced Country Manager to lead Nexxen Japan. You'll be working cross-functionally with various teams to help drive the adoption and usage of the platform with particular focus on growing revenue. This role is crucial to the success of this fast-growing piece of our business. This role will be based out of Tokyo. Please note - We have a hybrid work model with the expectation of 3 days minimum in the local office to collaborate, innovate, and celebrate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Country Manager for Japan will be responsible for leading the Japan office with a focus on driving revenue with new and existing customers. Contributing their market knowledge, business relationships and direct work experience to lead the development of Nexxen’s business in Japan.  

Specific challenges include:

  • Develop and implement a market strategy to position Nexxen as the leading end-to-end platform for video and full-service omnichannel in Japan. Focused on driving revenue from supply and demand customers
  • Oversee and lead Nexxen's business with Agencies, Publishers and brand direct partners from recruitment to development, ensuring high performance.
  • Identify and drive opportunities from omnichannel customers in the market.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of viable opportunities that exceed quota, staying updated on each prospect in the market.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Focus on spearheading business development and account growth opportunities in the market.
  • Serve as a 'Player/Coach,' establishing relationships with key buy-side and sell-side prospects to ensure the growth and success of Nexxen's Japanese business.
  • Identify, secure, and grow relationships with premium publishers and relevant partners within the digital omnichannel ecosystem.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing assigned strategic local Platform customers.
  • Build and foster relationships with senior stakeholders (up to the C-suite) of premium agency partners, with particular attention to tier-one partners.
  • Research and maintain an up-to-date target account list aligned with the evolving digital landscape.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized account list (new and current) with a tiered relationship engagement plan for the team.
  • Effectively understand clients' current and future needs and how the Nexxen product suite can support their digital transformation.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge capabilities in understanding Nexxen solutions compared to competitors.
  • Educate and upsell existing partnerships to utilize the full breadth of Nexxen's Ad Serving, SSP, and Platform tools and products.
  • Partner with Nexxen's global product teams to understand global product developments and create localized strategies and execution plans for introducing new offerings to partners in Japan.
  • Capture and relay product feedback from Platform customers to various Nexxen stakeholders.
  • Train, educate, and influence publishers to utilize the Nexxen Platform on a self-service basis.
  • Stay informed about the rapidly evolving ad tech ecosystem to identify new ideas and opportunities that can guide Nexxen's business strategy and growth in Japan.
  • Research and analyse industry, market, and competitors to make informed strategic decisions impacting Nexxen business in the region.
  • Serve as a thought leader in the market, speaking at industry events, providing PR opportunities, and keeping Nexxen top of mind.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating physical work environment for our teams.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the team, offering training opportunities where needed.
  • Ensure that Nexxen operates its entities legally, complying with all required local and regional regulations.


What Will I Bring?  


  • 12+ years selling consultative online advertising solutions, digital media, online analytics; 3 + of which are in the programmatic space.
  • Demonstrated trajectory of success of leadership, managing and growing teams.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in programmatic media space, ad serving, RTB, data exchanges or performance advertising, is essential.
  • Strong C-level / senior marketing relationships within the digital ecosystem.
  • A self-starter, capable of thriving in a high-growth environment.
  • Previous programmatic sales experience required; technical or platform sales experience is strongly desired.
  • Well-evolved consultative sales skills, relationship building, both internal and external customer satisfaction management.
  • Strong understanding of internet advertising technologies.
  • Ability to cultivate public relations opportunities and speaking engagements.
