PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise plant cost accountants.
  • Partner with operations management to provide advice and technical assistance with operational processes.
  • Create reporting and analyses to ensure the financial statements compiled by the facilities are accurate.  
  • Focus on improving current reporting and manufacturing processes.
  • Presentation of monthly manufacturing performance results.
  • Review and analysis of monthly actual’s vs plan. 
  • Analyze product costs and variances associated with purchased and manufactured goods. 
  • Review and test the adequacy of the standard costing system.
  • Perform and Report on results of periodic audits of Inventories (Work in Process, Finished Goods/Raw Materials). 
  • Develop more efficient and accurate manufacturing reporting.
  • Assist in special assignments as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA/CMA Preferred

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • High level of dedication to meeting customer requests and required time commitments. 
  • Organization Transformation Experience Preferred

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems and have a good understanding of MRP (material resource planning).
  • Must have experience working with Standard Cost
  • Aptitude for relating manufacturing activities and processes to financial outcomes. 
  • Proven track record of results and ability to partner with all levels within the organization

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of manufacturing cost accounting experience
  • CPA or CMA
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems
  • Good understanding of MRP (material resource planning)
  • Experience working with Standard Cost systems
  • Experience performing periodic inventory audits (WIP, FG, RM)
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
