TASK DESCRIPTION:  

This position is located in the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) Maintenance Activity to provide services regarding the maintenance, modification and repair of KAF aircraft.

 

TASK REQUIREMENT:

1. Perform both scheduled and unscheduled corrosion control maintenance on aircraft and aircraft components.                          

2. Provide formal in-service training for the maintenance department personnel.

3. Provide informal in-service training (on-the-job training) on corrosion prevention for work center corrosion representatives.

4. Inspect aircraft in accordance with applicable corrosion/phase maintenance requirement cards as required.

5. Use only approved cleaning and corrosion control materials listed in the NAVAIR 01-1A-509/540 Manuals.

6. Report immediately all exposures of aircraft to salt water or firefighting chemicals to maintenance control.

7. Submit unsatisfactory reports on applicable corrosion problems.

8. Report all paint failures and corrosion attacks to maintenance control

9.Prepare corrosion location charts and other corrosion records as required.

10. Manage contaminated waste storage and disposal.


MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Minimum of four years experience as an airframes technician

2. Completion of a Corrosion Control course.

3. Two years experience in corrosion maintenance and aircraft painting.

4. No security clearance is required.
