As a Corporate Counsel, General Litigation, you'll help shape how we navigate complex legal matters and manage litigation risk across the business. You'll partner with teams across the organization to assess disputes, develop strategies, and provide practical legal guidance on matters with domestic and global impact. From responding to emerging legal threats to managing active litigation, you'll play a central role in protecting the business while helping teams make informed decisions.
What you'll do as a Corporate Counsel, General Litigation
- Assess lawsuits, demand letters, customer complaints, and other actual or potential legal threats by gathering facts, analyzing exposure, and developing response strategies.
- Draft and review court filings in partnership with outside counsel and help guide litigation strategy from initial assessment through resolution.
- Negotiate directly with opposing counsel to resolve disputes and legal threats when appropriate.
- Partner with teams across the organization to proactively identify litigation risks and develop strategies to address potential exposure.
- Represent the company in small claims court as needed.
- Investigate and respond to inquiries from regulators and Attorneys General offices related to customer complaints.
- Provide practical, timely legal guidance on emerging business issues and help internal partners understand and evaluate potential legal exposure.
What you'll bring
- At least 5 years of relevant litigation experience at a law firm; in-house experience is a plus.
- A Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.
- A practical, business-minded approach to evaluating legal issues, managing risk, and developing solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with internal partners and influence stakeholders through sound legal judgment and clear, actionable guidance.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 160,800.00 USD - 201,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
