Universal Logistics is currently in search of a Corporate Attorney to work on-site at our corporate office located in Warren, MI. RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract Review
• Reviewing bids, equipment purchases and sale agreements, and contractor agreements/POs, operating agreements and member consents
• Drafting and preparing purchase agreements, broker-carrier agreements, master transportation agreements, and trailer interchange agreements
• Reviewing purchase orders from contractors, drafting company terms and conditions, and revising bid forms
Employment Matters
• Handling legal cases, including gathering and reviewing information, communication with opposing counsel, drafting position statements, and mediation with the EEOC and state equivalents, and non-compete disputes.
Other Responsibilities
• Litigation-Acting as the corporate representative for various matters such as auto liability, commercial, collections, and cargo claim matters.
• Document review and communication with outside Counsel
• Demands-Drafting demand letters as needed
Minimum Qualifications
• Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
• Ability to work independently in the courtroom as well as in a team environment • 10+ years as an associate attorney
