Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Core Cloud Platform Engineer to build and improve SCOR's Engineering Platform. In this internal role, you will implement and maintain approved Azure infrastructure modules, deployment blueprints and GitLab CI/CD templates, with security and observability built in. Working with platform colleagues and application teams, you will make onboarding and day-to-day operations more repeatable and reliable. The target profile is approximately five years of relevant cloud, DevOps or platform engineering experience.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Build the paved road: You implement and maintain approved Azure PaaS and container deployment blueprints, including storage and PostgreSQL integrations.
• Infrastructure as code: You develop, test, document and version reusable Terraform/OpenTofu modules within agreed standards and review processes.
• CI/CD and golden pipelines: You improve GitLab project templates and Java/Python pipelines, including automated tests, quality and security checks and releases.
• Platform automation: You automate routine onboarding, configuration and service-registration steps using approved platform interfaces.
• Observability by default: You add logs, metrics, dashboards and alerts to application and infrastructure templates using agreed patterns.
• Reliability and operability: You investigate deployment failures, improve runbooks and help resolve recurring platform issues.
• Application onboarding: You help teams select approved patterns, configure repositories and environments and prepare deployments for production.
• Security and hardening: You apply established guardrails, branch protections, approval controls and security checks in shared modules and pipelines.
• Documentation and enablement: You maintain clear examples and documentation and help application teams use the platform effectively.
Required experience & competencies
Professional Experience
• Approximately five years of hands-on cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering experience; equivalent demonstrated delivery experience is welcome.
• Experience implementing Azure PaaS or container services and shared engineering capabilities for application teams.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services and working knowledge of AKS or comparable container platforms.
• Experience creating or maintaining reusable Terraform/OpenTofu modules, including automated tests and versioning.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or equivalent, including reusable pipelines, checks and deployment automation.
• Working knowledge of networking, identity, security and observability when integrating approved platform patterns.
• Experience troubleshooting deployments and supporting application teams through technical onboarding.
• Experience in controlled enterprise environments is useful but not required.
• Professional fluency in English. French is a plus.

Technical Skills
• Azure PaaS and container fundamentals; familiarity with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Storage and PostgreSQL.
• Terraform/OpenTofu modules, testing, basic state management and approved infrastructure patterns.
• GitLab CI/CD templates, branching, merge-request controls, security and quality checks and releases.
• Containers and Kubernetes fundamentals, including deployment, configuration and basic troubleshooting.
• Logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, health checks and operational triage.
• Python, Bash or PowerShell scripting and basic API-based automation.
Required Education
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
