Position Overview:

Be part of an energetic, fast-paced in-house Creative team at a growing organization with high employee satisfaction ratings. HomeServe is looking for a talented Copywriter to join our flexible workforce in Norwalk, CT. Ideally, you will be located within a commutable distance of Norwalk, CT, as you will want to be at our head office a few times a week for collaboration meetings. Under the Copy Director’s supervision, you will concept and write acquisition copy while collaborating with art directors and designers to create winning direct response campaigns. Strategic thinking, direct mail experience, and the ability to understand what resonates with target audiences are key to this position’s success.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Write clear, persuasive, and original copy that translates marketing strategy and objectives into direct response campaigns
  • Amend, revise, or redevelop creative concepts based on internal, cross-functional, and legal reviews and feedback.
  • Successfully execute copy requests from marketing, strategy (B2B2C), and business development (B2B) departments
  • Timely and accurate responses to copy requests, strong project management skills, and ability to work on several simultaneous campaigns and interact with internal teams within marketing and cross-functional departments to execute projects under tight deadlines
  • Proofread all projects to ensure quality and accuracy, ensure adherence to all required legal, partner, copy guidelines, and maintain a high level of creative and brand standards.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years writing direct response marketing in offline and online channels for direct mail print.
  • Please include a link to your online portfolio or samples with your resume.
  • A strong command of direct response methods, tactics, and strategies that demonstrate a record of successful KPIs (response rate, conversion rate, CPA, CTR, and CTO rates) within the direct mail channel.
  • Expert-level experience working within a digital workflow using Acrobat Pro to create marked PDF files that include proofreading and copy-editing direction for copy editors, designers, and production teams.
  • Expert level knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience using project management software such as Asana, Jira, Workfront, and Microsoft Teams to manage an all digital workflow.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to create and adhere to SOPs to manage projects and copy workflow.
  • Copy editing experience a must; ability to proof and edit your work and others to ensure marketing standards, style guides, partner preferences, and legal guidelines are maintained.
  • An understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically InDesign, is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Advertising, Marketing Communications, or equivalent
