Joining a growing Development division the Individual Giving Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Fundraising team and to projects across the division. The role will work closely with the VP of Development on all matters related to fundraising, including database management, donor correspondence, and event support. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role as a central point of contact and information across Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Acknowledgements/Stewardship

  • Assist individual giving officers with Salesforce entry when needed

Internal and External Communications 

  • Draft donor communications as needed
  • Create Salesforce templates for communications and coordinate with prospect managers to utilize the templates
  • Work cross-departmentally with donor communications, stewardship, annual fund and donor operations team, as needed, to ensure coordinated communication to stakeholders 
  • Serve as subject matter expert on NPR communications, including internal content meetings as well as all newsletters; Spread relevant information to individual giving officers
  • Coordinate with the Task Force staff liaisons to create regular updates to the Task Force members

Prospect Management Support

  • Support the President’s Council by helping with mailings and list management
  • Work with development services staff to create pledge reminders for Foundation Board members prior to board meetings
  • If based in Washington DC, New York or Los Angeles, act as point person for donor tours of NPR studios
  • Gather Salesforce opportunity reports and review monthly with Individual Gift Officers for any opportunities set to close over the next two months  to close over the next two months and adjust accordingly
  • Provide support for donor meetings and events, including:
  • Assist in preparing materials for donor meetings
  • Draft briefings materials for events and donor meetings in partnership with Research 
  • Attend internal meetings to gather information
  • Prospect like-minded organizations identified by individual giving team

Donor Events

  • Provide invite list support for the individual giving team, including
  • Work with Individual Gift Officers ahead of each event to finalize invitation list (review master list, trustee prospects, collaborative prospects)
  • Review Member station event requests weekly and share updates with Individual Gift Officers
  • Serve as a liaison with Donor Events team on events details and logistics and provide event support as needed

Additional administrative tasks

  • Serve as project manager for Individual Giving team by;
  • Take an active role In meetings by  taking notes, reporting out  action items and synthesizing important takeaways
  • Maintain and effectively utilize Salesforce database by:
  • Pulling a variety of reports and coordinating efforts with Donor Ops, including monthly birthday reports and send template in SF to donors from the PM (review the list with the PM ahead of time)
  • Support NPR Foundation Board work, as assigned

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 2-3 years working or interning for a non-profit organization
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Hands-on experience with donor database system, Salesforce preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Attention to detail and donor-service spirit
  • Collaborative team player 
  • Experience using Google Suite and Microsoft Office for creating and managing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets
  • Experience using Salesforce

JOB TYPE

  • This is a full time, non exempt position.

WORK LOCATION

This is a hybrid permitted role. The employee will be required to be onsite at our Washington, DC office at least 10 days a year. The employee must also reside in an NPR supported location based on the number of onsite days they choose.

COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: The U.S. based anticipated hourly rate for this opportunity is $30.28 - $31.73 per hour. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rate NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
