About The Role

G2 is looking for a Content Marketing Specialist responsible for writing different long-form content formats on the Learn Hub and G2.com, reviewing and providing in-depth feedback to their peers’ content pieces, and optimizing their content based on best SEO practices. This individual will have a strong writing background, preferably in Tech, IT, or SaaS, with the ability to craft engaging, relevant, and high-value content that resonates with the audience. They should also have a keen understanding of evolving AI usage in the content and SERP trends.

They will report to a Content Marketing Manager. This position is based in Bengaluru, and we are excited to offer a hybrid work environment with a two-day in-office presence.

In this role, you will:

  • Based on the assigned software categories, conduct thorough research, competitive analysis, and SERP intent analysis to understand the current content coverage. Identify content gaps at different funnel stages (Top, Middle, and Bottom) and emerging AI-driven search trends.
  • Leverage tools like Ahrefs, Google Trends, or GSC to monitor search landscape shifts and experiment with content strategies accordingly.
  • Plan and write engaging, informative, and high-quality content that is both audience-focused and optimized for emerging search formats, such as AI-overviews, featured snippets and Google’s evolving ranking factors.
  • Efficiently write and publish 4-6 articles a month, each article averaging about 2,000-3,000 words, on a variety of technical topics. Independently manage your writing process from start to finish.
  • Include and create relevant multimedia content, such as infographics, tables, and charts, to enhance reader engagement and increase visibility in search features.
  • Provide in-depth peer reviews for your colleagues’ content, including SEO best practices, competitive analysis insights, and design recommendations.
  • Keep track of performance metrics (traffic, CTR, etc.) using GA4, GSC, and SEO tools to understand what’s working and what needs improvement.
  • Regularly promote and distribute your content across various platforms, including LinkedIn and industry-specific communities.
  • Bring and share your ideas and learnings with your manager/team members to support data-backed content experimentation and strategy improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A passion for and a strong understanding of SaaS content creation and the ability to adapt to the rapidly changing search landscape.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to craft content that balances SEO best practices with audience-first storytelling.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze competitive content landscapes and suggest updates to existing workflows accordingly.
  • Expert grasp of AP style editorial standards and American English.
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • 1-3 years of experience in content marketing, SEO-driven content creation, and organic growth strategy.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 5 long form published articles, ideally in the SaaS, IT, marketing, or tech spaces.
  • Experience in competitive research using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Trends, etc. to optimize content for search success.
  • Basic graphic design knowledge using tools such as Canva
  • Understanding of content management systems, HubSpot preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing content performance such as GA4, GSC, or any other SEO tools to drive iterative content improvements.
  • A mindset that thrives on experimentation, testing, and continuously refining content strategies based on AI-driven SERP shifts and organic performance trends.
