Role Description: Content Marketing Manager 
 
Role Purpose: 

The Content Marketing Manager will lead the strategy and execution of The Bucket, our thought leadership and blog platform. Acting as Editor-in-Chief, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving our editorial calendar from topic ideation and developing article briefs to assigning freelancers and delivering polished, publishable articles with minimal supervision. The right candidate must be comfortable interfacing with and interviewing experts inside and outside of the company, from C-suite executives to technical subject matter experts.      

Beyond these editorial duties, the Content Marketing Manager will be expected to work cross-functionally across the broader team to help develop and manage integrated content campaigns and produce a variety of asset types across the buyer’s journey. 

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Content Strategy, and works closely with growth marketing, product marketing, executive leadership, and external contributors.

Primary responsibilities:

Editorial leadership 

  • Own the Wasabi blog—The Bucket—as Editor-in-Chief, including planning, scheduling, and publishing 
  • Establish and drive a new executive thought leadership program for regularly publishing high-value bylined articles for The Bucket or external media opportunities as needed. 
  • Develop relationships to establish a regular cadence of guest posts and blog exchanges with our Channel and Technical Alliance Partners. 
  • Manage intake of blog/article requests from internal stakeholders 
  • Develop creative briefs and assign work to freelance writers or internal partners 
  • Edit all blog content for tone, grammar, accuracy, and brand consistency to align with our style guide 

Content strategy & execution 

  • Support quarterly content and campaign planning in partnership with senior content team leadership 
  • Research and translate technical concepts into clear, engaging blog content 
  • Write impeccable content for articles, website, Ebooks, ads, as required. 
  • Align blog content calendar to key funnel stages and buyer personas based on various campaign objectives 
  • Collaborate with SEO and growth teams to optimize content performance 
  • Partner with product marketing to support product releases and go-to-market messaging 

Project & stakeholder management 

  • Track and manage all active blog content projects within the editorial calendar 
  • Coordinate with the design team for visual elements, and PR or social for distribution 
  • Monitor industry content trends and competitive messaging to stay informed and aware of topics we should be covering 

Who we’re looking for in a candidate:

The ideal candidate has 7-10+ years of B2B content marketing and copywriting experience and a demonstrated ability to manage a high-quality, high-output editorial function. They are proactive, creative, and comfortable turning complex technical ideas into clear, engaging written narratives. 

We expect the right candidate to be: 

  • A strong editor with experience developing and managing a high-volume, high-quality editorial calendar in technology marketing 
  • An exceptional writer with a portfolio of published work and long-form assets 
  • Familiar with B2B SaaS or IT infrastructure/cloud technology  
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple deadlines 
  • Skilled with demonstrated experience in leading and managing editorial calendars and freelance writers 
  • A stickler and advocate for adherence to our style and brand guide 
  • Proficient in supportive AI tools that enhance workflow management and efficiencies 
  • Comfortable with SEO best practices (hands-on optimization not required) 
  • Collaborative and enthusiastic about cross-functional teamwork 
  • Familiarity with content analytics and performance reporting 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a similar field.  

Preferred candidates will also have: 

  • Experience with Asana, Storyblok, Scalenut, or other similar content/CMS tools 
  • Background in cloud storage, data protection, or IT industry writing
