The Consulting Systems Engineer serves as the main pre-sales technical point of contact for Ericsson BEW Wireless WAN customers, partners and distributors in UK&I
The Consulting Systems Engineer creates and drives technical strategy for partners in UK&I by aligning Ericsson BEW technology roadmaps with the account's vision and strategy. Measures of success include increases in proof of concept success rates, quarterly billings, partner revenue, new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, customer satisfaction, and certifications for partner technical resources.
Responsibilities
- Train and evangelize system integrator, managed service, and reseller partners on Ericsson BEW solutions and technology.
- Exceed quarterly sales quota targets and management objectives.
- Document end to end enterprise solution designs and architectures.
- Proactively identify potential 3rd party partners that would enhance Ericsson BEW products and cloud offerings.
- Manage certification activity with system integrator, managed service, and reseller partners.
- Work with system integrator, managed service, and reseller partners to assist them with SDK, and NCM API work to integrate Ericsson BEW solutions into their systems and processes.
- Work in parallel with system integrator, managed service, and reseller partners and Ericsson BEW field sales teams on key customer opportunities.
- Document and prioritize new features and solution requests from system integrator and reseller partners.
- Periodically develop white papers and solution briefs.
- Create and deliver technical product and roadmap training presentations.
- Engage and coordinate Ericsson BEW enterprise support team during pre-sales trial and pilot activities.
- Setup, configure, and test innovative edge network solutions for system integrator, managed service, and reseller partners in Ericsson BEW labs working closely with internal R&D and QA teams.
- Support Partners and the Partner SA Team in building, testing, and documenting SDK applications and API calls/scripts.
- Travel as required mainly in the UK&I, with annual trips to US for technical and sales summits
Qualifications
- Preferred - Bachelor of Science
- 5+ years of experience working as a Sales Engineer/Solution Architect with system integrator and reseller partners.
- 5+ years of experience building or supporting edge enterprise branch routing, security and wireless solutions.
- Proven track record selling networking, wireless or security solutions into enterprise accounts, system integrators, and reseller partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and creativity skills.
- Confident self-starter with integrity and accountability; a track record of consistent achievement.
- A strong aptitude for business strategy and excellent collaboration skills.
- Should have practical experience and strong knowledge in the following areas:
- 2+ years working with Ericsson BEW solutions
- 5+ years working with LAN/WAN network topologies and interworking (ie. MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- 5+ years working with Enterprise, Carrier or Public Wi-Fi solutions (ie. Motorola, Cisco, Meraki, Ruckus)
- Solid understanding of LTE, 3GPP(HSPA+, LTE)/3GPP2(EV_DO) Broadband Wireless Data Architectures
- 5+ years working with Virtual Private Network Solutions and Technology
- 5+ years working with Network Management Solutions
- 5+ years working with Network Security (ie. UTM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SBC, ACL, NAT)
- 3+ years working with Python, JSON, and REST API's
- 3+ years of experience using Python to build applications and scripts for networking functions.
- 3+ years of experience using JSON and RESTful API's
- Experience with network performance testing platforms like IXIA and Spirent is a plus
- Experience with M2M and mobile solutions
- SD-LAN/SD-WAN experience
- Ericsson BEW, Cisco, or other industry certifications are a plus
- Ericsson BEW Certified Network Expert Certification is preferred
