We are looking for talented individuals to join FMI’s rapidly growing Private Equity Services Practice in 2026. As an Analyst you’ll join a team that partners with leading financial sponsors to deliver transaction-related consulting services (i.e., commercial due diligence, operational due diligence, and sell-side market studies). Our clients range from $100+ billion AUM firms to independent sponsors and family offices. As part of the Private Equity Services team, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis of market trends, industry dynamics, financials, and competitive landscapes to deliver data-driven insights. Leveraging FMI’s exclusive focus on the built environment, our mission is to help financial sponsors unlock growth, enhance performance, and create lasting value.

This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity that requires 5%-15% travel and will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to gather and analyze data on industry trends, competitive landscapes, customer behavior, and other relevant market dynamics to inform clients.
  • Utilize a variety of research methods, including primary and secondary research, data analysis, and financial modeling, to assess market opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop research methodologies and analytical frameworks for each project.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex data and information into clear and concise reports and presentations for clients, including findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices in strategy consulting and private equity to continuously enhance your expertise and contribute to the team's success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Internship or prior work experience in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or related fields, with a proven track record of conducting market research and providing data-driven insights.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
