Role Purpose
Sandoz is seeking a high-performing Consultant – Workday Techno Functional to support the global People & Organization (P&O) systems landscape.
This role is positioned at mid senior level and is responsible for delivering functional excellence across Workday modules by partnering with HR Process Owners, IT teams, and business stakeholders to design, configure, test, deploy, and continuously optimize Workday solutions.
The Consultant will drive adoption, operational stability, and continuous improvement within a global enterprise Workday environment.

Position Purpose:

Sandoz is seeking a seasoned Techo Functional Consultant – Workday to join the People & Organization (P&O) function. This is an Individual Contributor role with enterprise-wide integration accountability across a global Workday landscape.

The position focuses on requirement grooming, solution validation, integration oversight, and stakeholder alignment to ensure high-quality delivery across Global Time & Absence /Core HCM and any other modules.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Functional Solution Delivery

• Collaborate with HR Process Owners and stakeholders to gather and analyse functional requirements.

• Translate business needs into scalable Workday configuration solutions.

• Support end-to-end delivery from Design to Deploy for assigned modules.

• Configure and optimize Workday modules including but not limited to :

   - Core HCM

   - Time & Absence

   - Compensation

   - Recruiting

   - Workday Case Management

   - Workday Learning

• Work closely with IT teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of approved system features and enhancements.

• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to learn and support modules beyond core expertise as business needs evolve example Integrations.

  • Take care of monitoring checks/user access reviews/participate in various periodic controls like data privacy etc for various Peripheral systems In production outside Workday
Implementation, Release & Enhancement Management

• Lead or support implementation of new Workday capabilities including planning, configuration, testing, deployment, and adoption.

• Stay updated on Workday bi-annual releases and assess impact on existing configurations.

• Recommend and drive adoption of relevant new features.

• Support regression testing and ensure production stability post-release.

BAU & Operational Support

• Provide functional support for production issues, enhancements, and change requests.

• Perform impact analysis for change requests and system updates.

• Drive root cause analysis and structured resolution of recurring issues.

• Maintain configuration logs and ensure proper documentation for audit readiness.

• Support governance adherence aligned to service delivery protocols.

• Train and enable L1 support teams as and when needed on features and process to ensure operational excellence

Testing & Documentation

• Prepare and maintain BRDs, Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and test scripts.

• Lead SIT and support UAT cycles with business stakeholders.

• Ensure data validation and configuration accuracy prior to deployment.

Stakeholder & Governance Collaboration

• Engage effectively with global stakeholders across time zones.

• Communicate functional concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Operate within ITIL framework using ServiceNow (or equivalent) for incident and change management.

• Promote structured documentation and knowledge retention practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5–6 years of relevant Workday functional experience.

• Minimum 2 full-cycle Workday implementations (Design to Deploy) experience.

• Strong hands-on configuration experience in Workday HCM and Absence (mandatory).

• Exposure to Workday Case Management and Learning modules preferred.

• Experience in global or multi-country environments preferred.

• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capability.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Commitment to continuous learning and system improvement.

• Ability to work in Flexible work model designed for global engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Functional Certification (HCM / Absence / Learning preferred).

• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments.

• Exposure to payroll concepts is a plus.
