Simmonds Precision is seeking a motivated Configuration Management Specialist to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain all aspects of configuration management activities related to planning, identification, change control, status accounting and auditing for programs, system and/or equipment in accordance with internal guidelines and contract requirements. This position will require a candidate to efficiently work in a high-pressure environment where critical priorities are normal and to assist our internal customers to provide a high-quality product ensuring the integrity of our engineering documentation to our product.
A Configuration Management Specialist manages systems/software/hardware baselines, ensures documentation accuracy, controls changes, conducts audits, and collaborates with Engineering to maintain consistency, performance, and compliance, focusing on lifecycle data, release process and helping implement new configurations or updates.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring effective Change Management across projects
- Configuration and Data Management in line with AS9100 processes
- Supporting the project Change Boards
- Configuration of projects through life cycle management
- Participate in process improvement projects
- Support internal and external configuration audits
What You Will Do
- You will ensure customers’ requirements are implemented and reviews ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
- You will chair or co-chair design reviews, audits and scheduling with programs.
- You will evaluate requirements and coordinate the implementation of configuration management, data management and electronic data support.
- You will be responsible for generating program specific configuration management plans that tailor existing procedures for implementation of contractual requirements.
- You will manage the engineering document change process by facilitating approval documentation and participation in or chairing Change Control Board (CCB).
- You will track and monitor Change Order (CO) activity through release/implementation.
- You will review and determine if COs being proposed to engineering documentation support industry CM and company practices for Class I/Major and Class II/Minor.
- You will be responsible for CM fundamentals such as configuration records, as-built records, and change control.
Qualifications / Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 3 years prior experience in absence of a degree 7 years of relevant experience.
- U.S citizenship is required.
- Experience in Configuration Management.
$75,000 - 90,000
