Moog SDG in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Technical Writer to join our dynamic team! Internally known as a Configuration Management Coordinator II, this person will be responsible for the proficient and accurate creation and maintenance of design and manufacturing documentation using the Team Center ERP system, under the general direction of the Sr. Engineering Manager.

As our Configuration Management Coordinator II​, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

  • Creation and review of technical documents:

    • Contributing as part of the engineering team to create concise and comprehensive data items for customers (parts materials and process lists, qualification reports, test procedures, presentations, proposals, compliance matrices) and internal documentation (standard work documents, assembly and test work instructions, specifications).

    • Ensuring document marking compliance with contractual, export, Moog Intellectual Property, and government Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.

    • Working with and presenting data, including collection, trending, and graphing.

    • Generating figures with photos and CAD graphics.

    • Promoting consistency and efficient document generation by giving feedback and training to collaborators.

  • Creation and tracking of Engineering/Document Change Requests:

    • Coordinating between engineering, program teams and configuration management.

    • Creating and managing of document and drawing change/release requests in Team Center.

    • Formalizing drawing request records.

    • Tracking status of engineering change orders and helping troubleshoot process issues.

  • Creation and maintenance of SharePoint pages and document repositories.

  • Digitizing heritage design files.

To be considered for the Configuration Management Coordinator II role, you will need to bring with you:

  • HS diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a similar role in manufacturing, engineering or quality documentation.

  • Quality conscious attitude and basic mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, and wiring schematics.

  • Proficient skills in SharePoint and Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel).

It would also be ideal if you had the following preferred qualifications:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR an Associate’s degree in a technical field and 2+ years experience.

  • Ability to create figures from engineering models in NX/Solidworks/Cadra.

  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter, CRDM, iWIN and/or Subversion software.

  • Experience working with CUI or export-controlled information.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $28.00–$34.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
