Job DescriptionWise is seeking a Compliance Manager to act as a vital link between our global compliance policies and our KYC Operations.
You will be responsible for creating the clear, actionable procedures and guidelines our first-line KYC teams use every day. Your work will translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, step-by-step instructions, ensuring our operational processes are effective, consistent, and compliant across the globe.
How the role looks like:
Gap analysis and risk mitigation: Proactively identify potential gaps or inconsistencies in current processes. You will propose and develop new procedures or guidelines to address emerging risks, new product features, or changes in the regulatory environment.
Develop and write operational documents: Author and maintain the definitive global and regional procedures and guidelines for our KYC Operations teams.
Translate policy into practice: Convert high-level policies and standards into detailed, easy-to-understand operational steps that tell our teams exactly how, who, and when to perform critical tasks.
Drive process improvement: Continuously review operational processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose solutions to make our teams more effective, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business and regulations evolve.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with KYC Operations, Global Regulatory Compliance, Risk, and other functions to ensure your documentation is accurate, meets local regulatory requirements, and mitigates risk.
Expertise sharing and support teams: Act as a key stakeholder for the KYC Operations team, helping to develop and deliver training materials and communications that embed understanding of our procedures.
Documentation Governance: Continuously review, update, and improve our procedural documentation in response to regulatory changes, new products, or process improvements.
Quality Assurance liaison: Act as the primary compliance contact for the KYC Operations QA team. Analyze QA findings to identify systemic issues or trends that point to weaknesses in procedures. Work across various functions to introduce improvements to our processes and standards.
Advisory Role: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal inquiries related to compliance, providing expert advice and practical solutions to business units.
How you'll add value:
Enhance operational efficiency: By providing clear and standardized procedures, you'll reduce ambiguity and empower our teams to work with speed and confidence.
Strengthen our compliance posture: Your work is fundamental to ensuring we adhere to a complex web of global and local laws and regulations.
Enable scalable growth: You will help build a robust compliance framework that supports Wise's global expansion.
- Bridge the gap: You will be the critical connection between second-line compliance functions and first-line operational teams, ensuring regulatory theory becomes operational reality.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Compliance expertise: Proven experience in a compliance, risk, or operational role within financial services or fintech.
- Analytical Mindset: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to a diverse audience.
- Leadership and Influence: Ability to lead projects and influence others without direct authority to achieve compliance objectives.
- Organisational Skills: Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership: A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
