Compliance Assistant Intern

Are you passionate about the intersection of law, technology, and sustainability? Join SOPHiA GENETICS as a Compliance Assistant Intern and support cross-functional efforts to align cutting-edge AI innovation with regulatory compliance and environmental responsibility. 

You will work within the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) team on two impactful areas: helping to navigate evolving global regulations around Privacy and Data Governance and contributing to our Sustainability strategy in alignment with SBTi and EcoVadis requirements. 

You will be involved in: 

Privacy & Data Governance 

• Supporting the evaluation of current and emerging global privacy and data governance regulations.  

• Assisting in identifying key regulatory requirements and contributing to actionable plans and remediation measures, ensuring integration into compliance monitoring tools to enhance regulatory alignment and proactive risk management. 

• Assisting with legal monitoring and compliance efforts in new geographic territories. 

Sustainability 

• Participating in defining SOPHiA GENETICS’ sustainability strategy. 

• Reviewing and update our ESG Impact Summary for stronger sustainability reporting. 

• Supporting the team in identifying initiatives to reduce GHG emissions and meet climate-related commitments. 

• Background in Law, Privacy, or related field. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  

• A true team player, comfortable working cross-functionally.  

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

• Fluency in English.
