Who we are:
Nirvana is on a mission to harness the power of data to revolutionize commercial insurance and enable a safer world. We are bringing much-needed innovation into the legacy, trillion-dollar commercial insurance industry. We have developed cutting-edge predictive models that use real-time IoT data from billions of connected devices, allowing us to better understand and price risk. Our AI-driven platform fundamentally changes the way an insurance company operates with personalized risk scoring, faster underwriting, modernized claims, and proactive, data-driven insights to help customers prevent accidents.

We’ve already proven the scale—serving thousands of fleets and more than doubling our written premiums year over year. Our data moat is growing exponentially with more than 30 billion miles of telematics data, leading to more predictive models and new insights into how we can better understand and reduce risk. Altogether, our loss ratio, efficiency, and customer experience are redefining what can be done in the industry.

With $270+ million raised, including our Series D round in December 2025, we’re only accelerating our growth, with strong support from top-tier VCs including Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Valor. Nirvana’s leadership team has previously helped scale multi-billion-dollar companies from scratch, including Samsara, Rubrik, and Flexport, and includes industry veterans from Hiscox, The Hartford, and RLI.

About the role:
The Compliance Analyst will serve as a key member of the Compliance team, supporting day-to-day regulatory compliance operations across the organization's MGA and program business activities. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Compliance, this role is responsible for producer and adjuster licensing, regulatory correspondence, state filings assistance, legislative monitoring, and related compliance program functions. The ideal candidate brings solid foundational insurance regulatory experience, a detail-oriented work style, and the intellectual curiosity to navigate complex, multi-state compliance requirements in a fast-paced environment. Equally important is a genuine openness — or hands-on experience — with AI tools and technology; our compliance function is highly AI-driven, and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about leveraging AI to work smarter and more efficiently.

What you’ll do:
Regulatory Engagement & Response

  • Draft, review, and coordinate responses to state insurance department inquiries, market conduct examination requests, and information requests.

  • Manage complaint handling workflows, including tracking, investigation support, and timely response submissions to regulators through NAIC complaint portals and direct state channels.

  • Support the state filings manager with research requests related to objection responses to rate, rule, and form filings, including review of applicable statutes, regulations, and department guidance.

  • Maintain organized files and audit trails for all regulatory correspondence.

Producer & Adjuster Licensing

  • Administer the company's producer licensing program, including new applications, renewals, continuing education tracking, and bond renewals across all active states.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with adjuster licensing requirements in applicable jurisdictions, including independent adjuster entity and individual licensing obligations.

  • Serve as primary liaison with third-party licensing vendors and state departments of insurance on licensing matters.

  • Maintain accurate and current subproducer licensing records in the compliance management system.

Legislative & Regulatory Monitoring

  • Summarize and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders, including underwriting, operations, and leadership.

  • Maintain a regulatory tracking log and support timely compliance implementation in response to new or amended requirements.

General Compliance Program Support

  • Support the maintenance and periodic review of compliance policies and procedures.

  • Assist in the preparation of internal compliance reports, board or management updates, and investor or carrier audit responses.

  • Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by the Senior Manager of Compliance.

About you:

  • 5+ years of insurance compliance experience, preferably in a P&C insurance company, MGA, or insurance regulatory environment.

  • Demonstrated experience responding to state insurance department inquiries, market conduct examinations, and/or complaint handling processes; familiarity with the rate, rule, and form filing and objection response process is a plus.

  • Hands-on producer and/or adjuster licensing experience, including multi-state licensing administration and renewal management.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines while maintaining accurate records and audit trails.

  • Proficiency with standard business tools (Microsoft Office suite, Slack, compliance management or licensing systems).

  • Experience using AI tools in a professional context, or a demonstrated curiosity and openness toward AI adoption; our compliance function is highly AI-driven and all team members are expected to embrace and actively engage with AI-powered workflows.
