We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Compliance Administrator to join our growing team. This role is central to ensuring our Excess & Surplus (E&S) MGA operations comply with regulatory, contractual and carrier standards. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of E&S insurance, surplus lines filings, and audit coordination, along with a team-oriented approach to problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities & Duties
Carrier Audit Facilitation & Due Diligence
• Coordinate and manage all aspects of carrier audits (underwriting, claims, and operational).
• Maintain due diligence documentation including licenses, financials, and regulatory reports.
• Track audit results, lead post-audit follow-up, and ensure timely resolution of findings.
Contract Administration
• Maintain organized records of carrier and retail contracts, renewals, and amendments.
• Coordinate internal review of contract changes and ensure system updates are timely.
Policy & Underwriting Audit Processing
• Process audit results on individual policies and underwriting files.
• Coordinate with underwriting and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and implement improvements.
Surplus Lines Tax Filing & Compliance
• Prepare and submit accurate surplus lines tax filings across multiple states.
• Track and maintain jurisdictional deadlines, fee schedules, and related regulatory changes.
Training & Development
• Maintain and update training modules related to carrier-specific compliance obligations.
• Facilitate annual training for staff on audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Cross-Department Collaboration & Project Work
• Partner with Underwriting, Accounting, Processing and IT on compliance-related projects.
• Manage small-scale initiatives (e.g., audit readiness plans, system updates) to support operational improvements.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in a compliance, audit, or operations role within E&S or P&C insurance.
• Experience with surplus lines filings and audit coordination strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with insurance contract terms, state regulations, and E&S filing requirements.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Slack
• High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use a computer and keyboard daily.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing responsibilities
