The Communications Specialist supports Augusta Health’s internal and organizational communication initiatives through content development, stakeholder messaging, newsletters, employee communications, and communication coordination. This position works collaboratively across departments to support enterprise communication needs and organizational engagement.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Professional certifications related to marketing, communications, public relations, digital strategy, or project management preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field required.
- Healthcare system experience preferred.

Essential Job Duties:
- Develops and distributes internal & external communication materials and organizational announcements.
- Supports employee communications, newsletters, and leadership messaging initiatives.
- Coordinates communication requests from assigned departments and stakeholders.
- Assists with content development for intranet, email, and internal communication platforms.
- Supports communication planning and implementation activities.
- Ensures messaging consistency and adherence to Augusta Health brand standards.
- Collaborates with Marketing, Public Relations, and Digital teams on communication initiatives.
- Maintains communication calendars and project timelines.
- Assists with proofreading, editing, and quality review of communication materials.
