The Commission Specialist is responsible for overseeing the processing and payment of commissions to Agents and maintaining accurate and organized records. This position will also serve as a primary point of contact between the Commission Team, the Marketing Team, and the Agents (as necessary) to provide training and identification/resolution of questions and issues and maintaining agency rates in system.

  • Process commission payments, coordinating printing of checks, processing of direct deposit, and supporting documentations.
  • Ensuring commission data is accurately keyed in Enterprise
  • Correspond with the Agency Services team on Agency changes to ensure all systems are consistent and accurate
  • Bring to the attention of the department AVP any business activity which is not in compliance with federal, state, or local laws or the highest standards or business ethics and integrity.
  • Proficient in researching and understanding RMA guidelines and requirements.
  • Ensuring accurate banking data(direct deposits) is on file for all agents.
  • Maintaining the security of agency commissions - corresponding only with authorized users
  • Other Misc duties within the Policy & Commission Services Department

Position Requirements

Education

High School Diploma, equivalent or equivalent experience is required.

A plus - associate degree in related field.

Experience

Required - Advanced MS Excel Skills

Preferred - crop insurance experience, highly analytical work experience, or experience in a highly detailed, customer service-driven environment

Preferred - Customer Service experience, Experience with Analyzing data between multiple spreadsheets

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform complex functions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in using standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in researching and understanding RMA guidelines and requirements.
  • Bring to the attention of the department AVP any business activity which is not in compliance with federal, state, or local laws or the highest standards or business ethics and integrity
  • Become proficient in the use of all necessary software applications, policies, & procedures.
  • Respond to all requests promptly and with an accommodating attitude.
  • Always maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers both internal and external.
  • Communicate, face to face in events, clearly, openly, and effectively with Agents and co-workers both verbally and in writing.
  • Continually assess current processes to look for ways to create efficiencies.
  • Bring an innovative mindset to address daily issues.
  • Provide a positive corporate image with the company and in public.
