THE MANDATE

Teleport’s commercial functions (Revenue Management, Sales, 3rd Party, Solutions) generate a continuous stream of requirements for Product and Engineering, but no single owner represents commercial interests through the build lifecycle, and no single place consolidates competing requirements, tracks their status, or ensures what gets built is actually adopted.

This role closes that gap: it is the single point of accountability for translating commercial business needs into a prioritized, well-specified product roadmap; representing commercial in build decisions alongside Product and Engineering; and owning rollout and adoption once features ship. The role also directs a small analyst team that quantifies the financial and operational impact of proposed initiatives, keeping prioritization evidence-based.

A DAY IN A LIFE

At Teleport, we’re building toward IPO — and that means doing the boring things well. Execution, discipline, and follow-through matter as much as big ideas.

Your day will be varied, often crossing functions, but most of your time will focus on delivering results, owning your scope end-to-end, making fast, data-informed decisions, and following through on fundamentals like reporting, documentation, and processes.

How we work matters as much as what we achieve. Doing the basics right, every time, sets us up for success.

Most of your time will be spent driving impact through:

i) Requirements consolidation & prioritization

    • Serve as the single intake point for commercial business requirements currently scattered across Solutions, CX, Ecommerce, and Pricing.
    • Maintain a unified, prioritized backlog of commercial product requirements, resolving competing asks across functions before they reach Product/Engineering.
    • Translate business needs into clear BRDs / requirement specs that Product and Engineering can act on without repeated back-and-forth.

ii) Commercial representation in build

    • Act as the commercial voice throughout the development lifecycle — design, build, and testing — for initiatives like Teleport Core design.
    • Partner directly with Product Managers and Engineering leads to ensure trade-off decisions reflect commercial priorities and constraints.
    • Flag scope, sequencing, or design risks early, before they surface as post-launch adoption problems.

iii) Rollout & adoption ownership

    • Own the rollout plan for commercial-facing product releases: stakeholder readiness, training, communication, and phased adoption.
    • Track adoption post-launch and drive remediation where usage or outcomes lag expectations — this role does not consider a build "done" at handoff.
    • Establish feedback loops from commercial users back into the product roadmap.

iv) Cross-functional governance

    • Build and maintain a lightweight operating cadence (e.g. intake, prioritization review, rollout checkpoints) so commercial requirements move through Product predictably.
    • Present roadmap status, trade-offs, and realized impact to senior leadership.

v) Key Performance Indicators

    • Roadmap throughput & predictability — commercial requirements moving from intake to shipped within target cycle times.
    • Adoption rate — usage of shipped features against rollout targets, not just delivery.
    • Realized financial impact — quantified benefit of prioritized initiatives, validated post-launch by the analyst team.

Requirements

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with 7+ years of experience spanning product management, business/commercial operations, or program management, ideally with direct experience translating business requirements into product specs.
  • Product/stakeholder fluency: can write and defend a spec credibly with Engineering leads, not just relay a business ask.
  • Prioritization and trade-off judgment: able to rank competing commercial demands against limited engineering capacity, backed by impact quantification rather than politics.
  • Delivery follow-through: owns outcomes to adoption, not just to handoff; comfortable driving rollout, training, and post-launch measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as the commercial/business counterpart to a technical Product/Engineering organization (Product Owner, Business Product Manager, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing a team and running structured prioritization across competing stakeholder demands.
  • Strong business case development and financial impact analysis skills, with excellent stakeholder management — able to hold their own with both senior commercial leadership and engineering leads.

Preferred:

  • Experience in air freight, logistics, or e-commerce fulfillment.
  • Familiarity with agile/product delivery methodology (backlog management, BRD/PRD writing, sprint cadence).
  • Change management experience for internal platform rollouts.

At Teleport, we’re all about creating a diverse and inclusive team where everyone feels valued. We believe that different perspectives make us stronger and help us do logistics better across Southeast Asia. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate what makes each of us unique. If you’re passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!
