The Role
Fisher & Paykel is one of New Zealand's best-known brands, a global company with a strong heritage and ambitious plans. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique.
As a trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous and curious organisation, we are on a journey to become the world's most human-centred, #1 premium appliance brand.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as Commercial Business Partner – Customer Operations NZ on a 12 month fixed term employment contract.
Based at our new Global HQ in Penrose and reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you'll partner closely with the GM of Customer Operations NZ and a range of senior leaders across our NZ Distributor and Global Customer Operations teams.
This is a genuine commercial business partnering role. You'll go beyond traditional financial reporting to turn financial data into clear insights, challenge thinking and support better business decisions across profitability, efficiency and growth.
You'll take ownership of budgeting and forecasting, develop financial models and scenarios, analyse performance and provide meaningful recommendations to senior stakeholders. You'll also play an important role in improving processes and advancing automation across reporting and analysis.
This is where you come in...
You'll be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys getting close to the business and understanding what drives performance. You'll be comfortable moving between the detail and the bigger picture, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
You'll bring:
- Ideally 3–5 years' experience in financial analysis, business partnering or commercial finance, ideally within an end-to-end inventory, distribution or service environment.
- Strong financial acumen across reporting, budgeting, forecasting, modelling and analysis.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with non-financial leaders and influence decisions without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the confidence to challenge, investigate and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience using ERP and BI systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to make financial information relevant and accessible to senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, collaborative and adaptable approach, with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in how the broader business operates.
- Preferably a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline, together with CA qualification or equivalent.
You'll be joining a nine-person NZ Distributor Finance team and working closely with regional service managers, demand planning, Global Customer Operations and NZ and global Finance teams. It's a great opportunity to quickly build relationships, understand our business and make a meaningful contribution from the outset.
