About the role

As a Commercial Analyst within the Subscriptions team, you will support the development and interrogation of forecasting models and deliver commercial insight that informs subscriber growth and planning decisions. You will own the development and maintenance of forecasting models, working with AI-powered tools as well as data from across the business to help the team understand subscriber behaviour, track performance, and sharpen our forward view.

This is a role for an analytically rigorous, commercially curious analyst who can critically evaluate model outputs, ask the right questions of the data, and translate findings into clear recommendations for a range of stakeholders.

As a Commercial Analyst you will;

  • Interrogate and validate subscription forecasting models, applying statistical understanding to assess accuracy, test assumptions, and ensure outputs are robust and commercially meaningful.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, investigate variances between predicted and actual outcomes and iterate models to improve performance over time.
  • Conduct analysis of subscriber behaviour, including cohort analysis, churn propensity, and lifetime value, to surface commercial opportunities and risks.
  • Contribute to regular performance reporting, producing clear commentary on subscription KPIs and actuals versus forecast.
  • Support the budgeting and reforecasting process by providing the analytical underpinning for subscriber volume and revenue assumptions.
  • Maintain and quality-assure the subscription datasets used in forecasting and reporting, integrating data from Billing, CRM and Revenue Recognition platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards and automated reports that provide clear visibility of subscription trading performance.
  • Use AI and machine learning tools where appropriate to improve forecasting accuracy, automate repeatable tasks, and surface patterns in subscriber data.
  • Translate analytical outputs into clear, accessible findings for Subscription Marketing, Finance, and Commercial stakeholders.

Requirements
  • 2–4 years’ experience in an analytics or data role, ideally within a subscription, digital, or media business.
  • Strong understanding of statistical and forecasting concepts including time-series analysis, regression, churn modelling, and cohort analysis.
  • Strong SQL skills for extracting and preparing data from large datasets.
  • Familiarity with subscription metrics such as churn rate, LTV, recurring revenue and cohort retention.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial insight.
  • Attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and an enthusiasm for applying AI tools to improve analytical workflows.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits
  • A relaxed working environment with regular socials including a summer festival
  • Supportive well-being initiatives and benefits, talks & workshops, and Mental Health First aiders & Champions
  • 25 days holiday plus a day for your birthday. Our offices will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s which are in addition to your annual entitlement
  • Tailored training and development through both our inhouse learning platform and LinkedIn Learning
  • A progressive and transparent culture focused on your development
  • Flexible / hybrid working plus early finish Fridays
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Enhanced Family Policies including paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave. We also provide a pregnancy loss, fertility, and carers policy
  • Competitive pension plans and Life Assurance
  • A newly renovated modern office with lots of collaborative spaces
