Meet the Team
Splunk's CSP (Cloud Service Provider) Platform team builds the infrastructure services and automation that help power Splunk Cloud at scale. We create the platform capabilities that manage cloud accounts, support infrastructure changes safely, and improve how cloud environments are provisioned and operated across AWS, GCP, and Azure. Our team combines software engineering and infrastructure expertise, with engineers who build Golang microservices, automate workflows with Terraform, and partner closely with platform and service teams across the business. The environment is collaborative, fast-moving, and focused on solving real infrastructure challenges through automation and thoughtful engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to deepen their cloud and platform experience while working on systems that are foundational to the reliability and growth of Splunk Cloud.

Your Impact
Design, build, and maintain software and automation that improve how cloud
infrastructure is managed across Splunk Cloud. Develop Golang services and RESTful APIs that support infrastructure workflows, cloud account lifecycle management, and internal platform operations across multiple cloud providers. Deliver small-to-medium features from technical design through implementation, testing, and operational readiness, using sound engineering judgment and established best practices. Implement infrastructure-as-code changes and operational tooling to improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and support reliable service delivery. Collaborate with peer teams to troubleshoot production issues, strengthen service reliability, and contribute to a well-executed engineering roadmap within a defined technical scope.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in developing production software in Go, Java, Python, or a similar programming language, including building or supporting RESTful services or APIs.
  • Hands-on work with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure, in a software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure-focused environment.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or a comparable infrastructure automation tool, and experience working with containerized applications and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line environments, version control, software testing practices, and standard debugging techniques in day-to-day engineering work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building internal platform services or tooling that automate infrastructure changes or cloud resource lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to customer-facing, multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure in a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of AWS concepts such as account management, storage services, regional architecture, availability zones, and high-availability design.
  • Comfort writing automation or operational tooling in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Ability to work independently on defined problems, build productive relationships across teams, and share knowledge with engineers who have less experience.
