Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Clinical Support Tech I assists the OR team providing technical support and assisting the physician and/or RN. This role assists with patient positioning/prepping under the direction of the RN and, depending on area, may assist with maintenance and care of technology and equipment including but not limited to endoscopy, Robotics, Image guided (superdimensions), and video equipment.
  • Assists with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and protocols.
  • Prepares equipment and specialty items for procedures according to preference cards. Responsible for communicating pertinent information to the RN.
  • Additional functions include general cleaning, equipment cleaning, gathering equipment, specimen transport, room turnover, and assisting OR team with patient care (positioning and prepping). Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May function in the role of Operating Room Assistant as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

HOI OR only

  • Assist surgical techs/RNs in opening sterile supplies to the back table when directed.
  • Will be responsible for the 360 degree flips for anterior/posterior spinal fusion cases including gathering all needed equipment and safety devices needed.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum six months experience as Operating Room Assistant
  • Successful completion of internal technician competencies or equivalent external core training
  • A minimum of 1 year recent operating room experience is preferred
  • Additional skills and knowledge of equipment related to the surgical/ procedural environment preferred
