DNI is seeking a Client System Administrator to support AFIT/LS at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This role provides day-to-day IT support for end users, classrooms, and shared systems as part of the centralized AFIT Help Desk.
The position focuses on troubleshooting user issues, maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and software, and helping keep IT operations running smoothly during normal business hours.
Key Responsibilities- Provide client system administration support to AFIT/LS as an extension of the centralized AFIT Help Desk.
- Install, configure, and manage end-user hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Deliver customer support for the operation, restoration, and configuration of information systems.
- Support standardized student classroom configurations and reset shared student computers to approved baseline configurations.
- Coordinate and process trouble tickets, document actions taken, analyze root causes, and track issues through resolution.
- Respond to user requests received by email, phone, or direct conversation and escalate issues that cannot be resolved through local procedures.
- Configure and support laptops for travel and remote access, along with basic mobile phone and audio/visual equipment support.
- Oversee, track, and maintain custodial responsibility of the organization’s IT hardware and software inventories.
- Provide weekday support during normal business hours for AFIT/LS faculty, staff, students, and shared learning environments.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance (or higher DoD clearance)
- CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8140 equivalent)
- Experience supporting end-user desktops, laptops, printers, and standard office IT hardware/software in a managed enterprise environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, determine probable cause, and restore service effectively.
