The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Claims Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a hybrid position reporting to the Uniondale, NY office.
Responsibilities:
Report new claims electronically and telephonically.
Understand the different types of insurance policies to report claims accurately.
Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients.
Manage claims in AMS360/IR system according to department standards and best practices.
To distribute incoming postal mail that has been scanned.
Obtain adjuster information on newly reported claims.
Attaching claims acknowledgements.
Run daily reports and distribute accordingly.
Run reports based on information required.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of insurance policies and what they cover.
Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Skill in the operation of modern office equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent customer services skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively work on the telephone to obtain insurance information.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
Ability to follow through on tasks.
Ability to adapt to change
Prior office administrative experience
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
