The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology and digital strategy, with a strong emphasis on technical leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. The CTO will drive modernization, oversee IT infrastructure, and champion the adoption of advanced technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI)—to enhance customer experience and business performance in the life insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with business objectives and industry trends.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, including modernization of legacy systems, cloud migration, and integration of insurtech solutions.
- Oversee the architecture and scalability of all technology platforms, including customer-facing portals, mobile applications, and agent tools.
- Champion the adoption of AI and data analytics to improve underwriting, claims, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies (e.g., automation, machine learning, cloud, APIs) to maintain competitive advantage.
- Technical Leadership & Operations
- Direct IT operations and infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Establish and enforce best practices for software development, system integration, and technology governance.
- Collaborate with business units to deliver robust, scalable technology solutions that support business growth.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and external partners.
- Innovation & Collaboration
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology organization.
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for digital enablement and process automation.
- Stay current with technology trends in the insurance industry, particularly in AI, and assess their applicability to the company’s strategy.
- Talent & Team Development
- Attract, develop, and retain top technical talent.
- Lead training and development initiatives to build advanced technical and AI capabilities within the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, ideally in life insurance or financial services.
- Deep technical expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud, and software development.
- Demonstrated experience with AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in a business context is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in leading digital transformation and technology modernization projects.
- Strong vendor management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience managing large technical teams and budgets.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
