Education-Focused Internships (Fall/Winter)
Our Children’s Services Department is seeking motivated, compassionate, and dedicated interns for the Fall/Winter term who are pursuing careers in education and therapeutic services. Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting children with diverse developmental, educational, and therapeutic needs while working alongside licensed and certified professionals.
👶 Early Childhood Education Intern
Eligibility
- Enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction for young children
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and engaging learning activities
- Promote children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
- Observe and support individualized learning plans
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a Special Education Pre-K–4 program
Key Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers in inclusive and specialized classrooms
- Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Help implement instructional and behavioral strategies
- Observe assessments and progress monitoring
Eligibility
- Enrolled in an accredited OT or PT program, recognized by:
- Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
- Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed therapists during therapy sessions
- Support therapeutic activities and exercises
- Help document progress and prepare therapy materials
- Observe evaluations and treatment planning
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a Speech-Language Pathology program
Key Responsibilities
- Support speech and language therapy sessions
- Assist with data collection and documentation
- Prepare therapy materials and activities
- Observe assessments and intervention strategies
Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills and professionalism
Commitment to supporting children and families
Skills Required
- Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education, Special Education Pre-K–4, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or other relevant undergraduate or graduate program
- OT or PT students must be enrolled in an accredited program recognized by ACOTE or CAPTE
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Commitment to supporting children and families
