About the role:

Everest is seeking a visionary and commercially-minded Chief Pricing Actuary –
Global Wholesale and Specialty to lead the evolution of pricing, underwriting
decision science, and advanced analytical capabilities across its Global Wholesale and Specialty businesses, which covers all Insurance and Facultative business at Everest.

Reporting directly to the Global Chief Actuary, this executive will be responsible for defining and executing the global pricing strategy, modernizing pricing
capabilities, and building a best-in-class pricing organization that leverages
advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven
underwriting insights to create sustainable competitive advantage.

The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to Underwriting, Finance, Risk, Technology, and Executive Leadership, driving profitable growth through innovation, underwriting excellence, and disciplined pricing governance. This leader will play a critical role in transforming the pricing function into a future-focused center of excellence that enables faster, smarter, and more informed underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Partner with the Global Chief Actuary and business leadership to define and execute the long-term vision for pricing, underwriting decision science, and analytical innovation across Everest’s Global Wholesale and Specialty businesses.

  • Lead the transformation of the pricing organization into a technology- enabled, analytics-driven function focused on innovation, efficiency, and business impact.

  • Champion the adoption of artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance underwriting performance and business outcomes.

  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, experimentation, and intellectual curiosity across the actuarial organization.

  • Serve as a key member of the Global Actuarial Leadership Team and a trusted advisor to senior executives.

  • Challenge conventional approaches to pricing and underwriting, harness emerging technologies, and build next-generation pricing capabilities that position Everest as an industry leader in data-driven underwriting and risk selection.

Pricing Strategy & Underwriting Performance

  • Develop and oversee global pricing strategies that support Everest’s profitability, growth, return on capital, and underwriting objectives.

  • Partner closely with underwriting leadership to establish product and market-specific pricing strategies.

  • Monitor pricing adequacy and business performance through regular reviews and analytics-driven insights.

  • Drive underwriting performance improvement initiatives through enhanced segmentation, risk selection, and profitability management.

  • Lead profitability studies and business performance reviews to identify opportunities for growth, remediation, and capital optimization.

  • Monitor emerging market, social inflation, legal, economic, regulatory, and competitive trends and incorporate insights into pricing strategies, assumptions, and underwriting guidance.

  • Drive continuous refinement of pricing assumptions, methodologies, and risk segmentation to reflect evolving loss experience and market conditions.

Advanced Analytics, AI & Decision Science

  • Establish a roadmap for integrating AI and machine learning into pricing, underwriting, and operational workflows.

  • Drive development of predictive models, risk scoring methodologies, underwriting decision tools, and real-time underwriting insights.

  • Partner with the Business Solutions and Actuarial R&D teams to develop scalable analytical solutions and next-generation underwriting tools.

  • Promote the responsible use of AI through strong governance, transparency, explainability, and model risk management practices.

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve underwriting efficiency through intelligent workflow solutions.

Pricing Models & Infrastructure

  • Oversee the design, development, validation, deployment, and governance of pricing models across all Global Wholesale and Specialty businesses.

  • Ensure pricing models are calibrated to Everest’s return-on-capital management objectives.

  • Establish and maintain a robust technical pricing framework grounded in return-on-capital principles, ensuring pricing models appropriately reflect expected loss costs, catastrophe risk, expense loads, capital utilization, and target profitability across Global Wholesale and Specialty businesses.

  • Ensure actuarial methodologies, assumptions, and model frameworks remain technically sound, market-leading, and aligned with evolving risk characteristics.

  • Oversee model performance monitoring, recalibration, and enhancement to maintain pricing accuracy and business relevance.

  • Lead modernization of pricing platforms, tools, and infrastructure to support scalability, consistency, and operational excellence.

  • Partner with Technology teams to embed pricing and analytical capabilities directly into underwriting workflows and decision-making processes.

  • Advance data quality, model performance monitoring, and pricing effectiveness measurement across the organization.

Transactional Pricing & Catastrophe Pricing Support

  • Provide strategic guidance on large, complex, and high-profile transactions.

  • Support underwriting leadership through sophisticated risk assessment and transaction-level pricing analysis.

  • Ensure appropriate catastrophe pricing methodologies, tools, and insights are available to support underwriting decisions for catastrophe-exposed risks.

  • Partner closely with Catastrophe Analytics and Underwriting teams to incorporate catastrophe risk assessments into pricing decisions.

  • Ensure robust analytical frameworks are available to support complex risk evaluation and underwriting decisions.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain global pricing governance standards, frameworks, controls, and policies.

  • Lead pricing model governance and peer reviews and support validation and audit processes.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, actuarial, and internal governance requirements.

  • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management and Model Risk Management functions to maintain strong oversight of analytical methodologies and models.

  • Promote consistency and transparency across all pricing and analytical activities globally.

Business Partnership & Enterprise Collaboration

  • Partner with Reserving, Finance, Capital Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Claims, and Underwriting teams to support enterprise objectives.

  • Contribute to business planning, underwriting strategy, and capital allocation decisions.

  • Advise executive leadership on pricing performance, profitability trends, and strategic opportunities.

Talent & Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global pricing and analytics organization.

  • Attract, retain, and develop top actuarial, data science, and analytical talent.

  • Foster a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Education & Experience

  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) required.

  • Minimum 15 years of actuarial pricing and leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading global teams and complex cross- functional initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of modern analytical technologies and programming languages, including Python, SQL, R, and cloud-based analytical environments.

The base salary range for this position is $344,000 - $400,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
