Chief Financial Officer is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, health, and sustainability of the company. Ensures proper financial planning, efficient capital allocation, investor relations, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise with strategic thinking to support innovation, growth, and profitability.
Duties:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability.
- Oversee long-term financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board on investments, partnerships, and expansion.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, treasury, payroll, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to sustain business operations.
- Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring proper internal controls and audits.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, corporate finance regulations, and financial reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer on compliance with international financial regulations where applicable.
- Lead efforts in fundraising, venture capital negotiations, and investor relations.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
- Optimize capital structure to balance growth, debt, and equity.
- Establish and track financial KPIs to measure business performance.
- Provide insights into revenue models, monetization strategies, and cost optimization.
- Support product and market expansion strategies with financial analysis.
- Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
- Collaborate with other executives to align financial goals with operational and strategic priorities.
- Implement financial systems and tools to support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or Finance specialization) preferred.
- Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5–10 years progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years at the executive or senior leadership level.
- Proven success in financial strategy, fundraising, or scaling a business (preferably in tech, digital, or media industries).
- Strong understanding of tech-driven revenue models (ads, subscriptions, partnerships).
- Deep knowledge of corporate finance, investment management, and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, forecasting, and risk management skills
