- Installs, disconnects, upgrades and/or migrates services at the customer premise.
- Activates electronics by powering up the equipment via 48V or AC.
- Loads configuration from the engineering work package on customer equipment.
- Performs customer CPE testing, on-site.
- Coordinates with provisioning to verify / finalize customer acceptance of service.
- Coordinates equipment pickup with boundary partners.
- Creates, updates, and closes remedy tickets and coordinates change control.
- Assists with initial turn-up of CPE equipment.
- Standard operating procedures: Ability to follow, check, and document standardizing procedures.
- Following instructions from construction, project managers and supervisors
- Basic electrical theory: Knowledge of the function and operation of electrical equipment (DC & AC power) to ensure proper installation and to complete tasks such as troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment.
- Basic tool knowledge: Fundamental knowledge and ability to handle machines and tools.
- Battery Maintenance, & repair: Regularly inspecting and servicing electrical, mechanical, industrial, production, or related systems and components to prevent future failures or restore to serviceable and acceptable operating conditions. Identify and resolve issues in systems.
- Ability to read, understand and follow all applicable safety guidelines, perform risk assessments of environmental and electrical hazards to persons and company assets.
- Equipment assembly: Assemble components by manually fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Test equipment & processes: Implementing effective testing procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of products and systems.
In all cases
- Drives and maintains a company vehicle.
- Plans daily route, requisitions equipment / supplies and stocks vehicle.
- Configures CPE in warehouse prior to installation at the customer premise.
- Ensures appropriate iOS is applied.
- Performs basic functional testing of equipment to eliminate out of box failures.
- Follows labeling standards for all equipment, terminal ID, circuit tags and cabling.
- Works with customer on integration of complex circuits such as BGP, EPLAN, EVPLAN, etc.
- Tests and verifies services in conjunction with the install team.
- Pre-stages equipment per work order.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
- Works assigned shifts / schedules.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of IP, Ethernet, SONET, DWDM, Video and telephone technologies
Minimum
- HS diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
- 1 or more year of experience preferred in related field (e.g., technical support, installation, and maintenance)
- 1 or more years of experience working with IP, MPLS Ethernet, SONET, DWDM, DOCSIS, Video and telephone technologies.
- 1 or more years of experience specifically in provisioning and troubleshooting layer II and III networks for commercial customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of performance testing and test equipment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with team throughout the organization.
Preferred:
- 1 year of experience in troubleshooting layer I, II & III networks.
USD 32.26 - 48.41 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $32.26 - $48.41/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
