Job Description

As a Category Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in enabling high-quality merchandising execution across our Trade business. Supporting our Category Managers, you will own the accuracy, coordination and data integrity of category set-up, pricing and promotional activity, ensuring strong execution across systems and processes.

Working at pace in a dynamic environment, you will deliver reporting, manage data and support cross-functional coordination to keep categories running effectively, while proactively identifying risks and driving continuous improvement.

This role is central to ensuring our category strategy translates into seamless execution – allowing our Category Managers to focus on delivering commercial outcomes and growth.

What You will do:

  • Execute accurate item set-up, pricing and promotional changes across merchandising systems
  • Maintain high data integrity across product, cost, pricing and range information
  • Prepare and deliver reporting, including trading packs, promotional summaries and performance dashboards
  • Support range reviews with SKU data, lifecycle updates and analysis
  • Coordinate timelines, processes and stakeholders to ensure smooth category execution
  • Provide analytical and administrative support across range, pricing and promotional activity
  • Liaise with suppliers on rebates, funding, claims and product data updates
  • Respond to store and operational queries relating to items, pricing and promotions
  • Identify and resolve data or system issues, proactively managing risks and rework
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in processes, accuracy and execution standards

Qualifications

  • Experience in a category, merchandising or operational support role
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and administrative discipline
  • Systems capability across ERP/PIM platforms, Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet tight deadlines
  • Clear communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Sound commercial understanding of range, pricing and promotional levers
  • Confidence working with data and structured reporting
  • Experience in retail, trade or distribution environments (advantageous)
